Rexonolas Prismatic Hornpatented 1926
The Prismatic horn was an evolution of its predecessor: the 1912 patented, simple timber internal horn design referred to as the Rexonola Reflector Sound Chamber. The cut-away drawings below demonstrate how the new horn was adapted to the requirements of different models. For the Rexoports it was laid on its side.
The Prismatic horn was initially paired with the older mica-based Autophonic reproducer but soon after its introduction the next generation Rexophonic reproducer became available and the Rexonola Prismaphonic instruments were born...

Released to considerable acclaim, Prismaphonic instruments were seen as a major improvement over Rexonolas of the pre-electric recording era. This isnt too surprising given the improved tonal qualities of the new electrical recordings and the fact that the Rexophonic reproducer was often paired with a Prismatic horn which completely occupied available cabinet space... as in the Rexonola Prismaphonic Model 60 below and reviewed here... However, collectors today dont esteem these later instruments to the same extent as older acoustic machines.
